Diarrhoea

Frequent loose or liquid bowel movements characterisze diarrhoea. At times, it may contain blood, pus, or mucus. Diarrhea can be acute or chronic.
If left untreated the loss of fluids can cause severe dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, and weakness.

What are the causes of diarrhoea?
Viruses, bacteria, or parasites in the gastrointestinal tract may cause diarrhoea; It can also result from intolerance to milk, or emotional stress.

Diarrhoea can also be a symptom of other, more serious diseasesuch as Crohn's Disease or Ittirtable Bowel Syndrome.

Chronic diarrhoea may be a symptom of various serious disorder such as infection of the colon, intestinal cancer, sprue and infestation of the intestines with worms.......etc.

What will happen if the chronic diarrhoea is not treated?
If the diarrhea is chronic and condition is severe, it can reduce the body's ability from absorbing necessary water and salt into the bloodstream, which may lead to dehydration and loss of nutrition.

Can Chinese medicine treat diarrhoea?
Yes, Chinese medicine can treat diarrhoea effectively using a different approach to Western medicine.

How Chinese medicine treat Diarrhea?
Chinese medicine is a holistic natural system, which treats the whole body. A registered Chinese medical doctor will diagnose the patient very thoroughly through traditional Chinese methods and use his unique skills to identify the causative factors. In the case of diarrhoea, a particular internal organ is usually involeved. The treatment is precise and individual because every patient is different. In addition to targeting the presenting and immediate symptoms, Chinese doctors treat the origin of the disease.

What do the Chinese doctors use to treat Diarrhoea?
The doctors in our Harmony Chinese Medical Centre use acupuncture (needles or needless) and natural herbal extracts. In addition to these, they use other associated treatments such as cupping, heat therapy, and diet advice accordingly.

How do I take the herbs?
Harmony Chinese Medical Centre only provides Scientifically Extracted natural herbs to patients. They are ready to take. There is no need to make a concoction. It is as simple as making a cup of instant tea.

Does the Chinese herbal medicine give side effects to patients?
Side effects are rare.

Do I need to continue taking the herbs for rest of my life even after my diseases have been treated and fixed by your Chinese doctors?
To reduce the symptoms of disease our doctors treat the cause of the problems and harmonize the body. After treatment, patients generally do not need to continue taking the herbs. Certainly, our doctor will advise the patient how to manage the stress, the diets, exercises, and life style. In this way the patient can maintain a healthy level of wellness to prevent the recurrence of illness.

If you are suffering from diarrhoea, no matter how acute or chronic, our registered and experienced doctors in Harmony Chinese Medical Centre can help.
